Ever wish you could actually practice your camera settings instead of just reading about them?
That’s exactly what we’re doing at our next photo club meeting.
📅 Wednesday, May 20th
📍 HVL Trails – Ballfield Pavilion
🕕 6:00 PM
⏳ Stay as long as you’d like
We’ll take a relaxed walk along the trails and work on a couple of simple settings that can completely change your photos.
No pressure. No complicated tech talk.
Just learning by doing.
🌿 What We’ll Practice
📸 Aperture Priority (Background Blur)
We’ll try:
Blurry background photos
Keeping more of the scene in focus
Seeing how one setting changes everything
Perfect for flowers, signs, and portraits.
🚶 Shutter Priority (Freezing Motion)
We’ll practice:
Capturing someone walking
Freezing movement in leaves
Getting sharper action shots
You’ll see how small changes make a big difference.
🌲 What to Expect
We’ll walk the wooded trails, stop at a few spots, and try simple challenges together.
Go at your own pace.
Ask questions.
Try things out.
👉 If you’ve ever been unsure about these modes, this is the perfect place to learn.
✔ What to Bring
Your camera
Charged battery
Empty memory card
Comfortable shoes
Never used these modes before?
Perfect — that’s exactly why we’re doing this.
Looking forward to seeing you out there!
Getting better one photo at a time,
Doug
